  • In the context of a middle-class, white, North American Anglican congregation, personal faith is invigorated by a learning process, based on adult education theories, which encourages individuals to become active agents of their own learning and on-going formation. In a qualitative study, participants in a group setting indicated their own needs for faith learning and collaborated with each other in facilitating group exploration of these issues. The study indicated that individuals personally engaged with others in both the process and content of their learning discover the renewing/activating presence of God in themselves and in the gathered community.
