Abstract
  • Leading profound change (that is, shifting the inner place from which a system operates) requires leaders who desire to move creatively and effectively into an unknown future. Using 3dm's vehicle of huddle, Otto Scharmer's Theory U, and Luther's concept of being a theologian of the cross, the author of this emancipatory narrative study explored the identity, character, and skills of the transformational leader. She concluded that this model of discipleship, mission, and leadership formation moved a congregation from death into new life as evidenced by its growth in flourishing, sustainable, and reproducible ministry.
