  • The project asks: can affluent laity be equipped for dialogue with the poor and for addressing systemic injustice in partnership with the poor? The study attempted to equip thirteen participants for this challenge by involving them in cognitive, affective, active, and votive dimensions of learning. The project initiated: 1) dialogue with the poor; 2) involvement in an unfair job situation; 3) interest in a local advocacy group. The study evaluated these results by interpreting session tape recordings, leaders' observations, and participants' written evaluations. One conclusion was that the educational model employed could be used in other settings to equip laity for deeper involvement with the poor.
