Abstract
  • Through interviews with eight successful rural pastors and reading in the field of rural evangelism and church growth, this researcher discovered that growing rural churches have pastors who model relational evangelism, ministry structures for relational evangelism, and formal instruction in relational evangelism. Therefore, he developed a relational evangelism curriculum specifically designed for rural churches. He implemented that curriculum in a Bible study group of the Evangelical Free Church of Ellsworth, Kansas, and through a survey, administered to that group and two others, evaluated the effectiveness of that curriculum.
