  • The project aimed to prepare guidelines for the care of hospitalised Arab Muslims. This goal was achieved by an extensive review of literature on the cultural-religious development of attitudes toward illness and death, Arab life, relevant Islamic theology and the nature and theology of pastoral care to non-Christian migrants. The author spent a month in the Middle East interviewing Muslims and Christians involved with the dying and related areas. The guidelines were field tested with responses. 'Incarnational presence' and 'incarnational praying' were proposed as new and acceptable tools for Christian-Muslim dialogue.
