Abstract
  • This thesis seeks to legitimatize the practice of using hymns to preach biblical doctrone. Its content includes the Bible's use of music in worship, celebration, and teaching. Both Moses and the Apostle Paul commanded that music be used in teaching doctrinal truth because of music's affect on the human mind, emotions, and memory. Scientific research cited verifies that the mind naturally responds to music, and the chemical response affects the memory center in the brain causing content to be memorized. It is the conclusion of this thesis that hymns can be used to teach biblical doctrine.
