- Abstract
- This model for ministry was designed to bring cultural awareness into programs of ministry formation in the field of pastoral care, in particular clinical pastoral education. The purpose was to find a culturally sensitive methodology which could be relevant to different cultural contexts. The model was implemented in two countries, Italy and the United States of America. In both cases, the methodology focused on the application of a narrative approach to the task of care. Qualitative evaluation affirmed storytelling as an effective tool to enhance sensitivity to the role of culture in identity formation and in pastoral caregiving.
