Abstract
  • This project introduces the historical-grammatical method of biblical hermeneutics. It focuses primarily on practical techniques which laypersons can use to interpret the Bible. This process entails a cycle of four readings and seven interpretive questions. Primary emphasis is placed on using the guidelines from normal human language and the original author's intent to approach the text of Scripture. The practical analytical procedures allow laypersons to do individual Bible study with the incremented incorporation of research tools and study aids. A questionnaire which follows an eight hour presentation shows that the techniques are helpful and readily accepted.
