- Abstract
- This project is an orientation program for new missionaries of SIM's western Africa area. The program's goal is to shepherd and equip newcomers in their cultural adjustment. Surveys, orientation programs, and books provided the resources. Five cross-cultural training principles provided the structure. The exit phase stresses skills required for a cross-cultural ministry. The entry phase equips the newcomers to adjust to their new environment and to achieve communicative competence. Methods and measurable results are included in the project. SIM International directed each area to revise its orientation program and state measurable objectives. This project fulfilled that directive.
