Abstrait

The purpose of this ministry project was to lead a newly constituted church in the selection of their first deacon body. The project involved: leading the church in understanding the biblical teaching and role of the deacon; writing policies and guidelines for the selection and ministry of the deacon; and the selection of the first deacon body. The project included the use of pre- and posttests over the qualifications and ministry of the deacon. Between the tests, a series of sermons and group discussions were held to give people important information concerning these two areas. The project was a success, judging from the improved scores of the testing instruments and in the quality of men selected to the first deacon body.
