This project addresses a need for adequate premarital counseling at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The project examined the literature of premarital counseling, determined through surveys what pastors in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod South and North Wisconsin Districts are presently using in their ministries, and determined through surveys what premarital counseling the married members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church had. This research led to development and implementation of a six-session premarital counseling program and a manual covering six topics and designed for couples to keep throughout their marriage. The premarital program and manual are designed to enrich a couple's relationship and marriage by helping them assess their relationship to one another and grow in understanding of what biblical marriage is.
