Abstrait
  • This project studied premarital counseling from three perspectives: the theologies of Seventh-Day Adventists and Roman Catholics as these impact premarital counseling; a questionnaire comparing the premarital counseling of alumni of Atlantic Union College (a Seventh-Day Adventist college) and members of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester; and an application of 7 Bowen Theory (Family Systems Theory) concepts to premarital counseling. It was concluded that theologies (whether Seventh-Day Adventist or Roman Catholic), married respondents' experiences and opinions, and Bowen Theory concepts all point to premarital counseling as an important forum in which engaged couples can prepare for their married life together.
