Abstracto

The project examines the spiritual needs of retiring clergy and how the church might better meet those needs during the clergy's transition into retirement. Over a six week period the author explored the retirement experiences of nine retired clergy. The design of the sessions included the components of Groome's shared Christian praxis. A continuous assessment method was used to track the spiritual needs of clergy identified in the sessions. The author concluded that retired clergy need the support of the church during the developmental transition into retirement. He offers a proposal to the church to meet that challenge.
