- This study examines the faith experience of Mexican Catholics in southern California. Interviews with Mexican Catholics show the centrality of popular religiosity and sacramental practice. Historical antecedents in Nahuatl religion and Spanish Catholicism are explored. The theology of Deck and Elizondo are then presented as current reflection upon this experience.
