  • The research portion of the project includes chapters on the history of the celebration of the Christian year in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, and the history of the Common Lectionary and its use in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Another chapter discusses finding meaning in the celebration of the Christian year. The act of ministry and appendices include worship services and sermons based on Cycle A of the lectionary from Lent through Ascension. An evaluation of people's awareness of the Christian year is included, based on responses to a variety of instruments.
