- This work argues that the process by which one's object relations develop is one in which God is intimately involved. It moves toward an integration of object-relations theory, the metaphysical philosophy of A N Whitehead, and theologian Paul Tillich's concept of God's grace as acceptance in spite of human unacceptability. These are woven together to propose that the answer to human becoming is a theological one. God is affirmed as a spontaneous self working to move creation towards ever greater harmony and beauty.
