Abstract
  • This thesis-project evaluates the need for missionary recruitment and missions mobilization among older members of the millennial generation (currently ages 12-23) in the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) in the United States. The thesis begins with an analysis of the need for new missionaries in the C&MA while also showing how the denomination has addressed the issue. The second and third chapters provide a biblical-theological framework of missions and missionary recruitment along with a broad understanding of millennials and their postmodern context. Finally, a strategy for recruiting missionaries from among the millennials in the US Christian & Missionary Alliance is offered, providing helpful suggestions for local congregations to implement, as well as steps of action for the C&MA to take at the national and district levels. Special attention is also given to short-term missions experiences and their strategic part in the recruiting strategy in the first appendix.
