  • The author studied how God has been active in one northern Virginia local congregation, its early missional imagination, enthusiasm of the congregation in fulfilling God's call, and their missional footprints. The author researched how study of the missional ecosystem helped to move a congregation beyond a limited benevolence outreach to an effective ministry with special focus on ministry to the adolescent. This missional conversation is framed within the larger missio-ecclesiological theology. God's mission to the world can only be understood through the incarnate Word of God. Incarnation is presented as the model for fulfilling God's purpose in the world. Based on the findings from one congregational study, the author proposes practical steps for missional imagination.
