- This project addressed the question: 'How can I, the pastor of a church, intentionally be an effective pastoral caregiver who collaborates with the Spirit of God to enhance others' ability to be resilient through faith in God?' My hypothesis was that faith in God makes a difference in one's ability to be resilient, to spring back from adversity. I explored resiliency variables including childhood experiences, role models, personality traits, and different understandings of God. The diverse research identified numerous resiliency elements that were helpful to some and not to others. Consequently, each person had personal and unique resources for resiliency. My analysis resulted in the recognition of the importance of caring relationships. Individuals can help build others' resiliency by being effective pastoral caregivers, encouraging, available, and open to how God is working in lives of others.
