Alternative Title
  • Integrating homiletics into existing Master of Arts curriculums for permanent deacons
Abstract
  • There is a need for a homiletically well formed permanent diaconate in the Roman Catholic church and no uniform process has been identified. A survey was devised to ascertain the qualities and traits required by those who invite deacons to preach to their Sunday Assemblies. The survey was mailed to the target population and the results tabulated. The results were then integrated into a suggested curriculum modification for Catholic Universities offering masters degrees as part of diaconal formation. A recommended process and curriculum for M.A. programs is proposed.
