  • Hidden away behind over two hundred years of organized and methodical repression lies the secret history of Methodism. John Wesley was a source of support and dialogue with the women whose work as lay preachers helped his religious movement successfully spread throughout Europe. However, this history is concealed from the modern church that continues to inhibit the progress of women. The history exists, but has not been made readily available to educate the church. There is a delicate impasse between modern women and the Methodist hierarchy. For survival and a needed revival in the modern Methodist Church, this history must be reclaimed and made known to all.
