  • Benedictine practices of work, rest and play, worship, and prayer have ordered the life of Catholic faith for centuries. Postmodern Presbyterians long for more balance, order, community, and intimacy with God. The thesis of this project is that these Benedictine practices can provide balance, order, community, and intimacy with God for Presbyterian faith. The project followed the lives of eight Christian lay persons as they sought to embody Benedictine practices over a period of thirteen weeks. Qualitative research methods were used, principally through taped interviews. These provide evidence of growth in all four areas.
