  • The thesis of this project is that Lewis used 'smuggled theology' in his fiction. The focus is on the biblical and theological motifs in the 'space trilogy.' Research included reading several Lewis biographies, his autobiography, numerous secondary sources, and several readings (and teachings) of the trilogy. The result of the research is a commentary that will be of help to a first time reader of the trilogy as well as an aid to discovering biblical and theological references. Lewis, who saw himself as an evangelist, is telling biblical stories through fantasy.
