Abstract
  • The goal of this project was to assess the Music Ministry of Central Chapel A. M. E. Church, Yellow Springs, Ohio. Through the use of sermons, Bible Studies, workshops, and music appreciation seminars, data was gathered and studied. Included in this study was a six-month series of church music appreciation courses that was mandatory for all musicians, choir members, worship leaders, and ministers. It was evaluated through a pre-course and post-course survey. The outcome of this project supported the need for an inclusive manual for the ministry of music in the local African American church.
