  • This project draws on the extensive experience of working with dying children and their families to ask how 'faith transformation' can happen for people in these circumstances. The project utilizes 'logotherapy' and the understanding of the 'wilderness' wanderings of the Isrealite people and Jesus' own experiences in the wilderness to propose a framework for turning faith crises into faith transformations. This project is intended to impact the training of seminary students and hospital chaplains. Using a case study method, based on research studies found at the Graduate Theological Union and Stanford University, the project shows how a family facing the death of a child can turn faith crises into a deepening faith.
