  • From 1865 to May of 1882 the Lord's Supper was an integral part of the Salvation Army. In May 1882 the Church of England inquired about the possibility of the Salvation Army coming under the authority of the Church of England. One of the irresolvable issues that prevented this union was the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. By randomly surveying Canadian Salvationists the author discovered that they are neither aware of the historical circumstances surrounding Booth's decision, nor could they articulate its biblical non-sacramental position. In this project the author clarifies the historical issues and presents an alternative Salvationist viewpoint.
