- The aim of this project was to promote global awareness and mutuality in mission among members of Cove Spring United Church of Christ in Troy, Ohio, by involving the church members in cross-cultural sharing with Sri Lankan students from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Over a period of three weekends Sinhalese and Tamil Sri Lankan students shared experiences with host families and members of Cove Spring Church. Participants experienced increased sensitivity, trust, respect, appreciation, willingness to risk, and reconciliation in this venture. This project provides a model for consciousness-sharing and experiential learning in cross-cultural encounter.
