Abstracto

This project proposes that for most small congrgations of the United Church of Christ in New Hampshire the 'interim' between called pastorates is a crucial time for the church. The project compares the experience of interim time between five small churches that chose an 'intentional' interim and five small churches that chose to have a traditional 'Sunday supply.' Out of this research the project recommends that the interim should be served intentionally by a pastor appointed for that purpose, and suggests a new model for interim ministry, employing the language of faith, that recognizes the task of spiritual renewal at the heart of interim work.
