  • This practicum/project assesses the study/planning module Your Church and Its Mission from Church Information and Development Services as a resource for strategic planning in a congregation of under 200 members. The planning resource is evaluated in terms of its theological validity, its usefulness to a small-membership church and its practical outcomes. The practicum was conducted over a period of four months utilizing a strategic planning committee of 13 laity and the pastor. It concluded with a two-day administrative council planning retreat. A congregational mission statement and five recommended courses of action were developed.
