  • Christian college students who wish to maintain their sexual purity while studying at secular universities need to engage in a set of time-tested practices called spiritual disciplines. To test this thesis, an anonymous online survey was administered to 188 Christian undergraduate students at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. The survey reveals that a strong correlation exists between engaging in spiritual practices (such as prayer, Bible study, corporate worship, and meeting with a mentor or discipliner) 'very often' and maintaining greater levels of sexual purity.
