  • This study examines the current training program, in providing ministry during combat, for Navy chaplains. The research discovered that although the level of training was minimal, chaplains have a strong sense of self-confidence that they could deliver combat ministry. Further, although a formalized ministry model seems impractical in combat situations, incarnational ministry can be achieved through the presence of the chaplain in shared suffering and by means of holy communion.
