  • This project proposes to shift the focus of First Christian Church (Helena, Mont) from organizational maintenance and intimate family fellowship to engagement in God's mission. The congregation's biblical and historical roots provide a foundation for its contemporary purpose and mission. Congregational transformation and revitalization occur as members come to a clearer understanding of what it means to be part of a Christian movement engaged in mission and service. The denomination's past as a mission-driven reform movement in American Christianity provides identity and perspective as the congregation responds to a continuing call to 'make disciples'.
