- The author explores with her readers the need for Sabbath rest in life and ministry. Both clergy and laity are asked to explore the need for self-care and how Sabbath might be employed as a spiritual practice. The implications for not observing Sabbath in one's life and ministry are noted experientially, through research and the use of a congregational teaching tool. The author utilizes surveys, teaching objectives, and standard research to promote Sabbath as an instrument for fostering spiritual awareness and healing.
