- This project addresses family involvement in the recovery of adolescent addicts. Research was conducted through a five-year observation of a family recovery program in San Diego, California, and was substantiated by several current recovery models. The subject recovery program, PARTS (Parents and Adolescents Recovering Together Successfully), is self-managed by families with addicted children. The project deals with the current crisis in addiction treatment stemming from insurance industry cutbacks and government intervention, the need for community-based recovery models, addresses addiction as a family problem, and develops a basis for family-oriented treatment and recovery.
