Abstracto

The purpose of this project was to establish a pastoral counseling center which would provide counseling for individuals seeking help from a representative of the Christian community. The author used the three guidelines of Drucker's Management by Objective as the process whereby the center was planned, implemented, and evaluated. Ninety-six persons received professional counseling by a certified pastoral counselor. A survey of presenting problems of the counselees indicates that a majority of issues centered around difficulties in marriage, family relationships, and personal struggles such as feelings of inferiority and depression. This project provides a model for developing a part-time pastoral counseling ministry within the context of a local church.
