Abstract
  • This project addresses a need for a new curriculum for training missionaries of the Korean Methodist Church (KMC) in a more holistic way. For several years evangelism as verbal proclamation has dominated the mission effort of the KMC. Such a focus results in numeric growth, but issues of spiritual maturity and responsible social witness have been neglected. To be faithful to the biblical mandate, the KMC needs to find balance between verbal proclamation and social witness as taught in the Bible. The project explores biblical and theological perspectives on holistic mission and surveys four missionary training programs in order to formulate a new theology of mission and new guidelines for training missionaries.
