- This research evaluated a seminar designed to equip pastors to minister effectively to minority newcomers within their congregations. Lectures and discussion centered upon PowerPoint presentations. Other activities included a banquet, a race literacy quiz and an evaluation questionnaire. Seven minority members and six Caucasian pastors evaluated the seminar. The strongest rated aspect of the seminar was the scriptural foundation it provided for effective cross-cultural ministry. The seminar was rated least effective in reducing pastors' apprehensions about ministering to minority newcomers. Implications of majority and minority culture rating differences were discussed and potential improvements explored.
