  • This project explores the background and substance of eschatological beliefs held by members of Mount Zion Lutheran Church (York, Pa) and designs a comprehensive Bible study, Word and Witness, to enable participants to examine and modify these beliefs. Eschatology among these subjects is influenced more by societal and cultural factors than by the 'electronic church.' Church members' beliefs are unclear, even with regard to basic doctrine. Eschatology is driven by a human need for security in the life to come, the result of human sin. The course proves beneficial in changing eschatological beliefs and providing basic Christian education.
