Fifteen pastors were tested for mental abilities, motivation/interests and personality characteristics using the Prevue assessment personality test instrument and supervisor performance ratings. The results established certain commonalities in work-related personality characteristics among the research group, which aided in producing a 'pastor suitability profile' of personality characteristics judged significant for a job-fit with the pastoral ministry. The 'pastor suitability profile' should prove useful for assessing candidates for the pastorate, coaching active pastors and by pastoral selection committees to fill pastoral positions.
