Abstract
  • This project focuses on how, in our present experience, the New Testament significance of baptism can be preserved and practiced. The project instructs worship leaders and congregations in the overall theology of baptism and how to express that theology through the design and implementation of a baptismal liturgy. The project was implemented in two phases. The first was an eight-week study of the institution, meanings, and practice of baptism. The second phase was to design and implement a baptismal liturgy that focused on the celebration of baptism as an act of worship. The project showed positive results by leading the participating congregation to a better understanding and deeper appreciation of the theology and practice of baptism.
