Abstract
  • The theological principle undergirding this investigation begins with the church as kerygma community that expresses its identity and unity through the symbols and forms of its public worship. A unified identity will be developed through an understanding of Baptist heritage and its unique story. Lay people and clergy worked in harmony with each other in this process. Two main elements directed this search: four special 'period' worship services, and an 'experimental' service (focused on a potential future worship style). The results of this investigation included a greater appreciation for both Baptist heritage and worship forms.
