  • Studies of the National Catholic Education Association have determined that faith development depends on the involvement of parents in the religious education process. This project develops a model for religious education based on the basic Christian community. Eleven intergenerational communities in a suburban parish are given an inductive curriculum that enables them to share faith within a setting that supports faith-filled living. Leadership training and liturgical and social celebrations are an integral part of the process. Evaluation shows that the project enables families to talk about God and religion in the home, to hand on values and to become involved in ministry.
