- Abstract
- This project presents a means to support and challenge parish adult religious educators in their development and response to others' needs. With mentoring as the image the project employs principles of adult religious education and supervisory education to create and implement a model of supervision. It is based on the assumption that theological reflection enables ongoing development and learning. The project, modeled on a practicum, involved seven adults and the mentor who provided input and served as teacher, facilitator, companion, and sponsor in the learing process. Employing the image of mentoring, adults learned skills to reflect theologically and deepened their engagement with others in service.
