Abstract
  • This project proposes that a survey of selected persons identified as effective in cross-cultural mission will reveal a predictable profile of characteristics and qualities that can be used to recruit others like them. The project interviews in depth 13 persons whose effectiveness in cross-cultural mission is widely recognized, interpeting their stories in patterns and metaphors in order to identify, equip, and place students with potential for mission in cross-cultural contexts. The research yields a list of common qualities, gifts, and experiences that offer implications and recommendations for missions recruiting.
