  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare behaviors, contextual factors, and personal traits that lead visionary entrepreneurial laity to start a new ministry. Forty-eight entrepreneurs participated. Respondents evaluated the importance of twelve factors, and identified new factors important in starting a new ministry. Three major findings emerged. First, eleven of the twelve tested factors did play a role. Second, six of the tested factors were important. They were: saw a need, received pastoral encouragement, heard God speak, prayed, received support of others, and felt called. Finally, respondents mentioned fifteen new factors.
