Abstract
  • This applied research project focuses on the timeless problem of legalism. Its method is to evaluate through questionnaire and personal interview eight individual members of an Amish religious group. Assessment of the effects of legalism on their practical struggle with grace will be done on the basis of their experiences in childhood, teen years, and adulthood. The literature review includes research in religious, denominational, child psychology, and child rearing publications. There is also an extended treatment of the Scriptural record. The ultimate goal of the project is to develop a ministry model that can be particularly applied to the local church setting.
