Abstracto

This project was designed to address the need to equip St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, to empower the community where it is located. A survey questionnaire, a series of Bible studies, two workshops, a series of sermons, and a community forum were developed to provide a model of ministry for this project. These tools produced meaningful dialogue between church and community and birthed new ideas and concepts to deal with community concerns. The results of this project affirmed the concept that the church can bring about holistic change in inner city community.
