Abstract
  • Chapter 1 defines the purpose and goals of the church growth consultant. The consultant assists local pastors in Lancaster, South Carolina, to develop a team ministry approach within each fellowship. Chapter 2 shows a biblical basis for a team ministry. This chapter builds upon the Old Testament ministry of Elijah, Moses, Jethro, and the New Testament teachings of Jesus and the Apostle Paul. Chapter 3 is based upon team development as it is developed in the business world. Attention is given to how the business world succeeds in the development of teams. Chapter 4 is the consultant's project for helping pastors develop a team ministry within their congregations. 'A Path for Team Development' was created by the consultant to accomplish this task. Chapter 5 concludes with an analysis of the project. this chapter is an evaluation of the successes and failures for each church in the study. The overall goal of this project was for the consultant to assist the local pastor in developing a team strategy for a successful ministry.
