  • For the Christian counselor who seeks to integrate biblical theology and psychological models of counseling, it is first necessary to develop a biblical view of the nature, purpose and role of mankind in God's plan for his creation. It is then possible to choose which philosophical assumptions of secular personality theories and counseling methods are compatible with a Christian worldview and which are to be rejected by the discerning Christian counselor. A case study of a remarried family will illustrate the challenges that stepfamilies face in integrating new family members and learning to live respectfully together.
