Abstrait

The purpose of this project was to equip a selected group of believers from First Baptist Church, Leeds, Alabama, to become leaders of small discipleship groups. To achieve the goals for this project, the project director utilized an equipping module. The first phase of the project involved researching many different resources in the field of small groups and small group leadership skills. The project director utilized these resources to produce the lessons used to equip the selected group. The second phase was to develop a seminar, including lesson plans and a student workbook. The final phase of the project involved implementing the seminar for the initial training of the selected group. The seminar consisted of an introduction session, four lessons, a conclusion session and an implementation discussion. The seminar was conducted on four Sunday afternoons. Evaluation of the project confirmed that the seminar was effective in training the selected group to become discipleship group leaders.
